 Ushma's Story

Ushma Gajaria is an award winning-artist with over three decades of experience as an art educator and commissioned artist. Even though she was born and brought up in India, Ushma began travelling around the globe during the early stages of her career which allowed her to embrace a diverse and multicultural perspective of the world. Eventually, her experiences infleunced her work and she began combining traditional  themes from her Indian roots alongside contemporary art techniques in her work.

Over time, the experimentation process flourished into a full-time business of art and teaching. She moved to Dublin Ireland from India in 2019 where her work was displayed at an annual art exhibition (Sametāh – Le Cheile) which was an emerging platform for Indian artists abroad.

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE

Ushma has a degree in commercial arts with a specialization in illustration. She has worked on canvases, stage backdrops, frescoes, wooden furniture, hand-made products and luxury products alongside many more for various clients and brands. Her work has been displayed in India under the ‘Pink Power Organization’ to demonstrate the capabilities of emerging women artist and entrepreneurs.

Ushma has always believed that art is magically therapeutic. She is a certified Montessori teacher and has hosted several workshops with young children and teens where she has been able to witness positive changes in their behavior and creative abilities through her classes. She also shares her passion for art by conducting workshops with adults who wish to explore the realms of painting and illustration.

MISSION & PURPOSE

Ushma’s ultimate goal is to inspire her students to create harmony within themselves through art and artistic communication.

Clients and students across the globe have given praise in her mission of hope and aid. They have enjoyed seeing unique pieces adorn their walls which amalgamate the spirit of her Indian roots alongside contemporary art.
